Powering the evolution of Sri Lanka’s construction industry through engagement, collaboration, knowledge sharing and open innovation with all stakeholders is the INSEE i2i Collaboration Space – a dedicated center of excellence that develops and promotes new products and solutions for the building and construction industry with focus on creating shared values and efficient sustainable solutions for Sri Lanka.
Located in Peliyagoda, the state-of-the-art facility promotes collaboration between engineers, researchers, students, innovators, architects, academia as well as professional bodies, industry and technical experts and even market competitors, all with a common goal; connecting industry partners to speed up new technology transfer for the advancement of the local construction industry.
The Knowledge Space acts as an information library, sharing knowledge and expertise on global construction trends and advanced technologies via a series of Knowledge Sharing Sessions by industry and INSEE experts every last Thursday of the month. From packed auditorium sessions, we have introduced online webinars that draw over 200 attendees representing the building and construction industry community each month and jointly organized with the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL). Lecture topics range from global trends to local industry challenges, and seamlessly transfer knowledge and expertise in an open, informal environment.
It is an innovation-friendly ecosystem consisting of networking and working spaces, an auditorium, and 4 functional spaces equipped with over 50 state of the art tools and equipment’s for testing, including around 15 new tests that are new to the local construction industry.
