INSEE Ecocycle at a glance

INSEE Ecocycle Lanka (Private) Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Siam City Cement (Lanka) Limited, which is a member of the INSEE Group, a leading cement manufacturer in Southeast Asia, founded in 1969 in Thailand. The INSEE Group in Thailand also has expertise in environmental services that includes waste management. INSEE Ecocycle is the industrial waste management arm of the Group. INSEE group has its widespread regional footprint in South East Asia leading operations in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

In 2003 with co-processing 297mt of tyre waste, the responsible waste management solution of co-processing was introduced to Sri Lanka by INSEE Ecocycle. (Ex Holcim – Geocycle). Originated as the alternative energy supply unit for the INSEE’s Puttalam cement kiln, Ecocycle has now become premier waste management solutions provider for the industries of Sri Lanka. Persistently propelling sustainability across all pillars, Ecocycle always promotes the waste management hierarchy as the fundamental pillar in its solutions.

Over last two decades, INSEE Ecocycle paved the path of sustainable waste management in Sri Lanka through its circular economy-based solution of cement kiln co-processing. Slowly establishing the “polluter pays” concept within the local industries, Ecocycle expanded its co-processing capabilities to serve wide range of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste.

The rapid rise in the demand of sustainable waste management has led to the vigorous expansion of Ecocycle. Utilising strategic investments more than 3 billion INSEE Ecocycle exceeded its annual co-processing capacity by 100,000 metric tons and stating the mark of 1,000,000 metric tons of total co-processed volume millstone. Currently INSEE Ecocycle supports more than 1000 enterprises in the country for the industrial waste management by introducing tailor made waste management solutions to suit its corporate customer’s sustainability needs including total service solution, resource recovery, laboratory services, training and consultancy, industrial cleaning, specialized logistics, environmental remediation, emergency response services, chemical management, e-waste disposal and many more.
