Nandana Ekanayake was first appointed Chief Executive Officer of Siam City Cement Lanka in March 2017, and was then appointed Chairman of the company in May 2019 alongside his position as CEO. He was the Finance Director and Head of Divestment Projects of LafargeHolcim Vietnam prior to his appointment as CEO in Sri Lanka. Nandana has extensive experience in mergers, expansions and acquisition projects, and has held acting CEO position for both the Vietnam and Sri Lankan business entities prior to his official appointment. Nandana retired as CEO of INSEE Cement in January 2023, but continues as Chairman of the company.

Having joined the Sri Lankan operation of Holcim in 1999, Nandana went on to become the Vice President, Finance & Controlling of Holcim (Lanka) Ltd, and was instrumental in restructuring and merging Ruhunu Cement and Puttalam Cement Co Ltd into the singular Holcim (Lanka) Ltd legal entity during this time. He led multiple projects that included a preference shares issue to finance the refurbishment of the Puttalam Plant following the initial merger.

Nandana then went on to take over duties as Finance Director of Holcim (Vietnam) Ltd in June 2007, with the brand gaining high equity and elevated status as a major industry player in the country during his tenure. Prior to Holcim, he held senior management positions at Ruhunu Cement and Hayleys Ltd.

Nandana received his executive education at the London Business School and International Institute for Management Development (IMD) Switzerland. A Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Nandana is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA), Australia.
