INSEE Cement Sri Lanka Hosts Glitzy Awards Night in Recognition of Top Performing Business Partners

Sri Lanka’s construction industry catalyst INSEE Cement rewarded its island-wide distributor network at the annual INSEE Business Partner Awards 2020 held recently. The gala awards night hosted at Shangri-La Hotel Hambantota under the patronage of the company’s Executive Committee, recognized top performing business partners that strengthened INSEE’s position as the undisputed leader in the local cement retail market.

The theme of the 2020 ceremony ‘Nawa Jawayakin Peratama’ (Marching Forward with New Vigour) was unveiled by Head of Retail Sales Sujeewa Perera, followed by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of INSEE Cement Nandana Ekanayake addressing the gathering. The Chairman/CEO briefed the audience on the progress made during the past year, and the ambitious targets that have enabled the INSEE partner network to set benchmarks in market reach and new market penetration.

“The loyalty and support of our partners has ensured INSEE Cement’s continued dominance in the local retail market,” Ekanayake stated at the event. “As the demand for high quality sustainable construction escalates, we are committed to provide to the future-ready needs of Sri Lanka’s evolving construction industry.”

The glamorous event power-packed with musical acts and entertainment kicked off with the presentation of 15 regional awards that recognized the top three business partners across Sri Lanka.

Jan Kunigk, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Innovations at INSEE Cement then went on to announce the Special Recognition Award nominees for 2020. “For the second year running, we are presenting a special award to a Business Partner for value creation through innovative sales initiatives, going the extra mile to create more equity for the INSEE brand,” Kunigk stated.

Three projects were shortlisted and nominated for the award, with all business partners participating in a live vote to choose the winner. The award was won by New Central Stores Kandy for their fully automated sales operation implemented in 2019.

The INSEE Cement Executive Committee later took to the stage to present a total of nine National Awards, with Lahiru Imbuldeniya of New Central Hardware walking away with the coveted Business Partner of the Year Award for 2020.

The INSEE i2i (innovation to industry) Collaboration Space in Peliyagoda, assures high-quality consistency of all concrete and cement produced by the plants delivered to the market and will continue to drive development of new products and solutions for the industry.
